Fairly Modern was born out a love for design – graphic, interiors, tech – we don't play favorites.

We believe that crossing mediums and playing nice with other designers is the way to achieve the best result. After all, good design is good design. Based in Los Angeles, California with roots in Grand Rapids, MI – we have access to some of the best resources in the world. Being inspired and sharing those ideas across the country is what makes us unique. We're a diverse team of go-getters, dreamers, do-ers, and have never met a project we didn't like.

We are thrilled to announce our most recent addition – a Strategic Partnership with digital marketing mavens, Tiny Blue Sky. Together, we help small businesses – specifically in the food and craft beverage industry – grow their brand through experience design, photography, interior design, digital marketing and social media management.

Angela Satterlee
Founder

Angela Satterlee is a Los Angeles based, Midwest raised designer with experience across various mediums. After earning her BFA in Graphic Design, her career started in Creative Direction – with a strong focus on Marketing and Brand Development. This led her to a tech agency where she specialized in User Experience Design for Fortune 500 companies. Utilizing her time outside of work, Angela dove into many passion projects including two extensive home renovations which led to the unexpected success of her blog, Fairly Modern.

Today, Angela has received her Masters of Design degree and is living her dream in California. She has founded a collaborative studio that utilizes her skills in Interior and Graphic Design to bring holistic and conceptual solutions to her Residential and Commercial clients. Her visual language simplifies concepts and creates a clearly defined plan with a beautiful, West Coast influence and Midwest budget.

Sabrina's passion for Grand Rapids business development is evident. Her knowledge of the city and passion for real estate makes her an incredible addition to the team.  When she's not saving lives, you can find her working hard to renovate her Historic Condo in Heritage Hill – growing through personal experience that she is always ready and willing to share with our clients.

Amelia Crouse
Design Assistant

Amelia sees the world not as it is. But as it can be. She believes Design bridges the gap between what is, and what should. To transcend the creation of mere objects to designs driven by purpose. That is how she makes things better. For you, for consumers, for our planet, and for the companies that make them.

Amelia's simple love of craft landed her with Team Work Bags, a company that creates upcycled products from sails, army canvas, and manufacturing throw-outs. It was clear to her, creating things that people use, live with, and live in was her calling. She later received her BFA in Industrial Design and is currently a lead designer for Hush Puppies – designing the men and women's footwear lines.

Her experience with textiles, construction, and digital renderings makes her a wonderful asset to the Fairly Modern team. Her diverse background and collaborative nature, empowers her to work across mediums to create unique and thoughtful details for our clients.
